Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy is a branch of health care which is dedicated to improve a person's function, specifically relating to the neuromusculoskeletal systems. This is accomplished by a skilled Physical Therapist. A PT can improve your life by helping to improve your symptoms of pain, weakness, poor walking, or lessened mobility. While helping to improve your symptoms, your Physical Therapist should also be addressing the source of the problem. This may, for example, relate to a work posture, a structural abnormality, or an underlying medical issue. An attuned PT will help fix the source of your problem and report this and any concerns back to your physician. In these ways and more, your PT can work to help solve your problems.

Chestertown Orthopedics and Sports Medicine features on site Physical Therapy services by Paul D. Simonetti, PT,DTP and David G. Collier, PT, MPT. Paul grew up in Dunmore, PA. He joined the United States Army right out of high school, and served as a medic for the 300th Field Hospital in Northeast Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm. After he returned from the war, Paul earned a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy. Paul was first employed as staff Physical THerapist at Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton, PA.
